Busy Weekend!

This is one of our busy weekends. My sister is coming into town from Dallas with my nieces suddenly for her sister-in-law's housewarming. They will be staying with us on Friday night and I went out to get her some crawfish from this great place because she's craving it. Saturday morning we had to leave them because Ky-An has his swimming lesson. I would have skipped so he can spend some time with his cousins but he was making progress so I don't want to interrupt his routine. My sister then left to go to her sister-in-law's house, Thi, and I had to get ready to go the the big Thuy Nga concert. We dropped Ky-An off at our babysitter's house and didn't get out of the show until 6:00 p.m. We then picked him up, ran home really quick because we don't have any milk nor a diaper bag for him. In addition, he didn't get a shower after his swimming lesson so I wanted him to have a quick bath. Well we did all that but we still beat everyone to the restaurant. There was so many of us at dinner, 18 to be exact! That's what happen when my whole family and my sister's in-law family gets together. After dinner they wanted to go to this other place for the iced bean dessert so we went with them. This is about 9:30p.m., way past Ky-An's bedtime but he was so happy spending time with his cousins and it's not everyday that he gets to see them.

Ky-An didn't sleep until 10:30p.m. that night and woke up at 6:30a.m, his normal time. Yikes! We took him to Thi's house so he can spend some time with his cousins before my sister had to leave. I knew he would be missing his morning nap because of this but he was super happy seeing them and I figure it was worth it. He doesn't like to play with his younger cousin anymore since he can walk. He'd rather chase the older cousin around. He follows them wherever they go and just grin from ear to ear. Well I was sitting in the living room playing with the younger cousin when these girls ran out of the room giggling. Hieu asked where is Ky-An? They replied that baby is in the room, sleeping on the bed. Hieu and I ran into the room, open the door and there's our darling little boy sitting on the middle of the bed grinning happily and waving his arms whenever he saw us. We asked the girls how did you get him up on the bed? They told us they carried him! We were in disbelief that they can carry him because these girls are not that much bigger than him. Granted the bed is not that high in the first place but it must have taken both of them to carry him up on the bed. My poor little man, got locked up in a room by two little girls. :)

Another funny incident is that Ky-An found the air mattress is bouncy and loves to sit and bounce on it. He thought it was hilarious. Someone put my little niece, Yvonne, next to him. She is 2 months younger but a lot lighter than Ky-An. Well Ky-An keep on jumping on the air mattress and he is so heavy that the poor girl got bounced right off the bed. Too funny!

My poor little man was so exhausted by Sunday evening that he went to bed at 6:30p.m. and slept for 12 hours straight. At least he had fun though.

Happy Mother's Day! You sure had a busy weekend.... Family or any other gatherings are so nice, but they always seem to get the little ones off routine especially if it's a semi-all day event!
