Ky-An and Ai-Vy’s Development

Now that Ai-Vy started school, both kids are speaking 90% English at home.  I really have to work on that so they don't forget the language.

Ky-An:
  • Ky-An is still a kind, compassionate, loving, generous little boy.
  • He asked when he turned five why he doesn't feel any different?  How come he's has not gotten big?
  • Everytime I am sad or pretend to cry, he panics and desperately do everything he can to make me smile.
  • He got a DS for his birthday but the only thing he's interested in is to take pictures and draw on it.  He's my studious boy.
  • He likes Bagkugan, Pokemon, Sponge Bob, and is showing interested in super heroes.
Ai-Vy:
  • She is still a tough, independent little girl but starting to notice gender differences and exploring her own interest.
  • Ky-An accidentally crushed her fingers when he was closing the toy chest.  She just whined a little bit, a little shushing and she was off playing again.  No tears for this tough little girl.
  • She currently loves to wear dresses with either stocking or leggings.  She loves to be prettied up and for me to do her hair.
  • She still has to do everything herself, including using the bathroom, putting her shoes or jacket on.  It takes her about 5 times as long to put on her shoes but she has to do it herself.  To put her jacket on, she would put the hood on her head first.  She would then try to put her hands on both sleeves. It's funny to see her chase the sleeves around trying to put her little arms in it.  So cute!
  • She loves to sing and would sing all the songs that she learned at school in random time.
  • She's starting to be interested in stuff animals, but only small ones.  Big brother and her love to play pretend together.
  • She is starting to grasp the family concept.  She looks for a bigger one and a smaller one of each toy animal and play "baby" and "mommy".
  • They like to use their couch or canvas tubs as shells and they hide under it.

Sibling Love

  • Ai-Vy and I went to the restaurant first for Ky-An's birthday dinner. She wanted a lollipop so asked the waiter for not one, but two.  "One for my brother" she said.  She happily waited for big brother to come and give him his lollipop.  Big brother came with two lollipops also from the hair salon.  Apparently he had asked for two also, one for his little sister.
  • Ky-An got attention all day for his birthday. He got cupcakes brought to school, balloons, dinner at Cheesecake with the entire family.  I was worry Ai-Vy may be jealous but she didn't show much sign of it.  I am very proud of my little girl.  When it's presents time, she excitedly helped big brother open his presents.  Once she's done, she'll exclaimed "look what you got Hai!!!"  Very sweet and cute to watch.
