Ky-AN:
- He’s still the sweetest boy. Today he came up to Hieu and I and said “I need to take a nap.” I told him that’s right and asked if he wants any milk? He put up his fore finger and mimics me “but no chocolate milk” while grinning.
- He can count to ten and all the months of the year as well as days of the week in Spanish.
- He likes to make up silly words for things when we ask him what it is. One day he asked me what something is and I thought I’d be silly and make up a word. Somehow the world “balota” comes to mind and I told him. Needless to say my pleasant surprise when he exclaimed “balota is a ball!!!”
Ai-Vy:
- Ai-Vy is still Miss Independent, wants to do everything herself regardless if she’s capable or not. Hieu was holding day the other day when she grab her sippy of milk. He put her laying down on her couch and she yelled “Vy do it myself!”
- Her communications has been progressing in leaps and bounds and she surprises us almost everyday on what she can say. We don’t have to worry about her as much because she can tell us if she’s cold, hot, tired, sleepy, thirsty, spicy, falls, or owie. She can also tell us what she wants, down to the color and the size.
- She can count from 1 to 10 in English and Vietnamese
- She can sing maybe about 10 songs in English and Vietnamese. Some of the songs she can sing are:
- Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars
- ABCs
- Ca Nha Cung Vui (The whole family all happy)
- Kia Con Buom Vang (There’s the yellow butterfly)
- Con Chim Non (Little Bird)
- There is a song that I sing about musical marching band call “Te To Te” and she loves it. I would sing it and we march around the kitchen and when we are done, she would yell “AGAIN” until I am out of breath.
- She’s still a little mixed up on her colors. This morning she demanded more of the “break-fasth” that daddy gave her. I asked her what it is and she is very descriptive in what it was with “Vi want break-fasth”,”break-fasth in red”, “fish break-fasth”. Unfortunately I didn’t know what she was talking about and offer her anything from cereal to granola bars. Finally I had to call Hieu to back me up and it was the goldfishes that she wanted!!! Apparently that is “red” to her. What did she tell daddy when she saw him “Mommy can’t find it.”
