What Ky-An Learned – Week of October 26

  • Learned about animals and vegetables that are usually associated with the Fall Season.
  • Learned that bats, cats, and owls are nocturnal creatures
  • Learned that pumpkins grow from a pumpkin see and pumpkins are harvested in the Fall.
  • Pumpkins are used to make pies and bread.

Language and Literacy/Mucho Mundo:

  • Learned about calabaza (pumpkin), arana (spider), buho (owl), and gato (cat).

Science and Technology:

  • Spiders have eight legs and are called arachnids. 

Creative Arts and Expression:

  • Made fun construction paper spiders and jack-o-lanterns. 

Mathematics:

  • Focused on “Same” and “Different” concepts. 
  • Learned how some shapes are the same and some are different.

Physical Development and Health:

  • Discussed that candy from Halloween should all be checked by parents.
  • Talked about limiting the amount of candy children should eat to stay healthy.

Social-Emotional Development/Character Development:

  • Learned about cooperation by helping to clean up centers with their friends.
