What Ky-An Learned – Week of October 4

  • Can say all the months of they years and days of the weeks in Spanish.
  • Discussed safety rules, the reasons we follow these rules, and what happens if we don’t follow them.
  • Talked about “special” rules for babies, kids and adults
  • Created a class chart listing safety rules of classroom
  • Discussed safety rules when there is fire, smoke and emergencies at home or at school.
  • Something starts with the letter “B” on Friday for Show and Tell

Language and Literacy/Mucho Mundo:

  • Read Bugs, Bugs and Bugs!
  • learned octubre, El Bomberos and El Fuego.

Science and Technology:

  • Made traffic lights out of graham crackers, yellow frosting and m&m’s.
  • Talked about what each color represents.

Creative Arts and Expression:

  • Made fire paintings and fire trucks

Social-Emotional Development/Character Development:

  • Read the poem “Traffic Signal” from the book, Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein
