Ai-Vy & Ky-An's Development

Ky-An:

  • Ky-An is acting more and more like a little man everyday. He's understanding concept such as big brother. The other day I craddle him and said "An baby". He immediately correct me and said "An big brother!" He continues to make us laugh and impress us every day.

  • Ai-Vy and him are getting into more fights but it's still not as bad as other siblings we see. If Ai-Vy grab his stuff then he'll push her in which we tell him not to. Our rule is that whomever plays with the toy first gets dips. The other day Hieu told Ky-An to put his trains up or Ai-Vy will get into it. As soon as he heard that he went and pushed Ai-Vy. That constitutes and immediate time-out for Ky-An.

  • Besides those few fighting moments, he's still very good to his little sister. My aunt pretend to take Ai-Vy to her car one day when we were loading them all up. He started crying and pointed to Ai-Vy's carseat and screamed "little sister here!" It's really cute.

  • He still has a sinus problem that exist since the day he was born. It's heartbreaking to listen to him struggle to breathe every night. He has the same symptoms as Hoa's boyfriend including the snoring and the sleeping at a 90 degree angle. Hieu and I plan to take Ky-An to an ear, nose, and throat doctor soon to see what they said. Our pediatrician said there's not much to do except surgery but we want to see if there are any other options. We think that's the cause to his chronic sweating and his fatigue during the day.

  • We bought him a potty chair that has music so he loves using it. He even tried to sit on there and squeeze whatever he can out. LOL. We are now trying to see if he can do without diapers during the day. I am expecting a few accidents but hopefully he can do it.

  • He's doing very well in swim class. He is now in the class by himself with the teacher and is enjoying it. He cried the first few time when neither Hieu and I were with him but he's used to it now. He even circled to go get the lollipop before running to me after class last weekend.

Ai-Vy

  • Even before she was born, I knew she is going to be Miss Independent and she has proven me right everyday. She's a very fiesty little girl and because of her will to be independent, she ends up trying to do things that are advance for her age. She's already drinking out of the straw and I suspect she may skip the sippy and just move right to that.

  • She's already in her terrible twos with her tantrums. If she doesn't get her way with anything then the scream fest will immediately follow. She will put her head down on the ground and scream or use her head to butt into you when she's mad. It's adorable to watch her now but we are careful to let her know we won't tolerate it.

  • It's so cute to see this tiny little girl trying to keep up with her big brother.

  • She has discover the stairs and loves climbing on it. She throws a tantrum everytime we close the gate on her.

  • Ai-Vy will use her arm to direct to Hieu and I where she'd like us to carry her to.

  • She's already bossing us around. If she wants something or goes somewhere, she'll point her arm toward that direction and twirl her hand until she gets the item while making the "eh eh" sound. I keep trying to encourage her to go get it herself but so far it's not working.

  • She already knows what she want an
